Founded by dentist and biologist Dr. Dirk U. Duddeck in Berlin/Germany, the CleanImplant Foundation aims to identify and promote the highest quality of medical devices. In cooperation with distinguished universities, the non-profit organization performs independent quality checks on hundreds of dental implant systems on the market. These scientific quality assessments revealed that far too many implant samples exhibit significant factory-related impurities on the sterile surfaces.

Contaminants on sterile packaged dental implants include foreign metals, thermoplastic materials, synthetic polymers, polysiloxanes, and sometimes even cell-toxic chemical residues – all of them technically avoidable. These impurities provoke unwanted foreign body reactions, a possible cause of early peri-implantitis, bone loss, and implant failure. The right choice of flawless implants significantly improves the clinical outcome and the quality of patients’ treatments.
