„We discuss as researchers and clinicians periimplantitis issues and often blame patients, surgeons or prosthodontist for the damage done. Some key opinion makers even suggest a return to ‘good all days’ implants. Indeed periimplantitis was less observed or we were not aware of it. Maybe the immunologic reaction related to materials and surfaces, whereof some of reputable surface quality, is underestimated as a causal factor. Clean, cleaner, cleanest is maybe not only for the patient selection an issue but also for the implant surface.“
